What is a Featured Snippet?
A featured snippet is a piece of information Google pulls from a website, blog article, video, or other content that is directly related to the search query.
Featured snippets are positioned at the top of the page above all search results, within the "People also ask" section, or along with Knowledge Graph information.
Unlike a traditional organic search result where the URL and Title appear above the information, featured snippets display the key piece of information at the top and the source or page link below it.
According to Search Engine Land's Barry Schwartz, Google is testing new featured snippet layouts that could impact your website's click-through rate (CTR) and conversions from Google Search.

SEO influencers have spotted instances where Google has displayed up to four featured snippets in one search result. William Alverez on Twitter cited this "info-card" that was displayed in a mobile search result.
What Does This Mean for Your Business?
It's no secret high-quality content that answers the questions users are searching for is the only way to get your website, blog, or video into the coveted Featured Snippet spot. And unfortunately, there is no special code or trick to ensure Google picks your content to display.
The good news: If Google moves forward with multiple featured snippets there is more opportunity for your business to the spotlight.
The bad news: Multiple featured snippets means more distraction and more places for competitors to get that first click.
